HL: Tell me about your line of skin care products. How did this happen?
Dr. Paul Nassif: It is interesting that I am a facial plastic surgeon and Adrienne one of the most knowledgeable people except for being a dermatologist, she knows a lot about skin. She tried hundreds of products and we thought we’d look into skin care. We pooled our knowledge and tried 30 to 40 products, and after doing a lot of research my colleague Dr. Ron Moy worked with DNA repair enzymes. Which is cutting edge technology, it’s not antioxidants, it’s cutting edge and it’s new. It actually repairs DNA from damage from things like the sun. We just fell in love with the product.
Adrienne: Let me tell you what I like about these products, because I’ve tried everything. People throw at him all the time being a plastic surgeon, he saw it all. Our partner is the president of the dermatology academy, when he gave Paul these products and said to try them, see what you think. I tried them for a year and fell in love with them. It is the opposite of what everyone else does, they have exfoliating and exfoliating where you lose weight. And then you go out in the sun, look at the sun and you start getting hyperpigmented because your skin is so thin. This product rebuilds your skin, it is DNA repair. And the way it is delivered into the skin is through liposomes; it goes deep into the layers of the skin. This is what I loved is that it has had extraordinary results, quickly and without having to constantly exfoliate and thin the skin. This is the difference between; so that’s how we came up with this product.
HL: Were you nervous about tackling a new project? Because of how insanely busy you both are. We talked before and you guys have a lot to do. You have three young children and a slew of other successful businesses.
Adrienne: Yes (laughs)
HL: Because not only do you have work commitments, you have three boys.
Adrienne: Yes, we have three boys. We are never afraid of starting a new project, we were afraid of working together (laughs). This is the first time for us that we have worked together (outside of Real Housewives). I know how to market; he knows the scientific aspect of it. So I think together it’s a really great product.
HL: Does it help you stay a little longer with each other since your plans are so crazy? And you guys are currently shooting the third season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, right?
Paul: It’s fun to do it together.
Adrienne: Still, it’s fun to be honest here. We will have our moments where he thinks one way, I think another. And that’s part of the growth process and I think it represents a better product. I can see things from another perspective, just like him. We combine our knowledge and I think it is an amazing product.
HL: Will these skin care products be available in your Beverly Hills and New York City offices?
Paul: These will be available in our offices. But we were also doing heavy retail. I believe the first place that will be available is in Belk in the southeast. And then we talked to numerous retail outlets about where is the best place to transport the products.
HL : And what else do we have here? I see something light up in your hand there.
Loey Lane Broke Up With Her Husband
Adrienne: Well let me tell you, this is what people are going crazy about. It’s called the OMG iPhone case. You will see several prototypes. They were coming out on Apple, Best Buys, Target, Costco’s, within the next month or so. I thought about it about a month ago and my partner is the man who created sillybandz.
And I was talking about a new line of vodka called Zing vodka, which I partly own. It is the red velvet cake vodka, very luxurious, very smooth. It has an LED light in it; you press a button lights up. But as I explain it, I have my phone and someone said I like your case, but it was no accident, it was the light. And then I thought oh my God, let’s put the two together. The person I was saying said my partner created sillybandz, he’s an inventor maybe he can help and he did.
HL: It’s great.
Adrienne: You’ll see it in stores very soon. If it was the first to use LED technology, it will be on the iPad and iTouch. So you will see them everywhere.
HL: I love them!
Adrienne: I’ll send you one!
HL: As successful entrepreneurs, you guys always promote ownership and participation in your various businesses. What advice do you offer for young entrepreneurs?
Adrienne: The first thing is that you have to have passion. You have to believe in your product. Once you have passion, it’s hard work. Don’t just talk about it, go and do it. If you have that dream, go out and do what you believe in. But have passion, because then it is not work.
Paul: I also add that you have to work hard. Most people who work ethnically tend to be OK, but not great. To make any business successful, you need to put that time and energy into something and work long, hard days. Be it on weekends or at night. You have to constantly try to make things better. It’s not a 9 to 5 thing.
HL: You are currently filming the third season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. What can we expect from you in the new season?
Adrienne: There are definitely surprises, more drama and all I will say is that you will have to stay tuned.
HL: Did I hear that NeNe Leakes (Real Housewives of Atlanta) is coming to Beverly Hills? It’s true? Did you hear it?
Adrienne: I can’t tell you! I’d love to too but I can’t tell you.
