Adriana La Cerva is a fictional character from the HBO TV series The Sopranos, played by Drea de Matteo .
She is the longtime girlfriend and, later, girlfriend of Tony Soprano’s protégé Christopher Moltisanti. For her performance, De Matteo won the 2004 Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
ADRIANA LA CERVA AGE, FAMILY, MOTHER
Liz is the mother of Adriana La Cerva. Liz was born Elizabeth Aprile and is a sister of the late Jackie Aprile Sr.
and Richie Aprile and sister-in-law of Rosalie Aprile (see family tree). She is a cured alcoholic. Carmela commented that Liz and Adriana always had a strained relationship when Adriana was growing up.
When Richie Aprile confronts Chris about his relationship with his niece Adriana, Christopher asks who told him he was abusive towards him, but he doesn’t say it.
He has an unnamed sister who lives in Dayton, New Jersey. This leads to the suspicion that Liz maintained contact with Richie while behind bars through some type of correspondence but is never revealed.
He is not seen in the presence of his brother Richie when he is released from prison. Adriana tells Christopher that if they were to get into the Witness Protection Program she would like to never see her mother again.
Liz was never a big believer in Adriana’s relationship with Christopher Moltisanti and Ade often stayed with her following arguments or domestic violence.
When Chris proposes to Hades in front of Liz, she explains Chris’s behavior as offensive power and control. Following Adriana’s disappearance in 2004, Liz was visited by the FBI who informed her that her daughter was believed to be dead and that they suspected Chris’s involvement.
When Carmela Soprano met her at the 2006 Feast of Saint Elzear (based on the annual Feast of Saint Gerard, held every October around the church of Saint Lucia on Newark’s Seventh Avenue) of which she is a member of the party committee,
Liz, now convinced of the murder of her daughter, was already showing evident signs of depression: she had stopped taking care of her appearance and later tried to commit suicide.
The FBI came and questioned Liz and told her they believe Christopher killed her daughter. Carmela visited her in the hospital, but at that moment Liz seemed to be unconscious. Adriana’s information on date of birth, age, month is unknown but get ready to update soon
ADRIANA LA CERVA DEATH
‘Long Term Parking’ is the 64th episode of HBO’s original series The Sopranos and the 12th episode of the show’s fifth season. Written by Terence Winter and directed by Tim Van Patten, it originally aired on May 23, 2004.
Loading … Loading …Little Carmine recoils from the violence and Johnny Sack becomes the boss of New York. In one session, both Johnny and Phil Leotardo threaten Tony Soprano’s blood relatives. Johnny says he wants Tony B ‘on the spit’.
Tony B, in hiding, calls Tony. Apologizes. Tony tells him not to come back and says he will take care of his children. He honestly tells him why he wasn’t at the hijacking where Tony B. was arrested.
He always felt guilty; ‘Now we’re equal.’ Ending the call, they tell each other to look after. Tony traced the call. His cousin is in upstate New York, near his uncle’s now empty house.
Tony and Johnny meet alone. Tony says he knows where Tony B is and what needs to be done. He asks Johnny to let him handle it alone. Johnny refuses. He then asks Johnny to promise he will be fast. He refuses again. Tony then refuses to give up Tony B’s position and the bout ends in antagonism.
Christopher is punished by Tony for missing a cigarette smuggling operation. Back home, he complains about Tony’s treatment and what he sees as Tony’s favoritism towards Tony B. Stressed Adriana is diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.
An FBI camera in Adriana’s nightclub parking lot catches her acting weird with a garbage bag. She gets involved. He admits that a murder was committed in his office at the club: Matush, the drug dealer, killed Gilbert Nieves, a customer who claimed he was robbed.
Adriana was getting rid of some bloodstained clothes. Threatened with imprisonment for covering up a murder, she is told she must wear a thread. As before, refuse. However, he convinces them that Chris is ready to turn around. They let her go, with a deadline to bring him in.
When she tells Chris she talked to the FBI, he is driven mad with anger and starts strangling her. He stops, apologizes and shouts: ‘What will we do!’ They talk all night and agree to escape and start a new life. In the morning Chris goes out to clear his head.
As he gets gas for his Hummer H2, he gazes thoughtfully at a poor white family in the parking lot, their meager belongings tied to the roof of a dilapidated car.
Adriana receives a phone call from Tony: Chris tried to kill himself but was saved and is not in danger; Silvio will come to pick her up and take her to the hospital.
Silvio drives in a deserted forest area, exits the road on a track, then stops. He drags her out of the car. As she crawls away, crying, he shoots her and kills her off the screen.
Chris unloads a suitcase of his belongings on rough ground and puts his car in long-term parking at the airport. At Bada Bing, Tony sees that Chris is a heroin addict. Chris says the pain is too much. Tony loses control and beats him, saying Chris isn’t the only one with pain.
Tony and Carmela negotiate. He wants to build a custom house in collaboration with his father. Tony agrees to pay the land, $ 600,000. He promises his ‘midlife crisis will never intrude’ on their marriage again. They reconciled and he comes back to life.
He goes to visit Valentina in the hospital and leaves her. Tony and Carmela go to see the land she is buying. It is well wooded, similar to the wood in which Adriana was killed. He rests on a stump with his wife beside him and looks at the treetops and the sky
ADRIANA LA CERVA STORY OF THE CHARACTER
Adriana is the granddaughter of Jackie and Richie Aprile. Growing up she sees and hears a lot and is by no means rejected by the mafia lifestyle. Adriana is initially described as superficial and materialistic, interested in the things Christopher’s money could buy: expensive cars, shoes, jewelry, drugs and designer clothes.
As the couple gets closer and closer, she becomes a frequent victim of domestic violence at Christopher’s hands, including planning to leave him to be with her aunt in Dayton, New Jersey, but she remains devoted to him. He always seems to have Christopher’s best interests in mind (as well as his own).
Adriana is portrayed as ambitious and eager to have her own business. In season 3, [2] Christopher acquires The Lollipop Lounge in West Long Branch, Monmouth County, New Jersey, from a gambling debtor, and hands it over to Adriana to run it as she sees fit.
Adriana renames the bar ‘Crazy Horse’ and makes it a hit venue for local alternative rock bands and as a college student bar at nearby Monmouth University and elsewhere.
Benny Fazio is beaten in the parking lot of the night club by Phil Leotardo. In the fifth season, Adriana is diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.
ADRIANA LA CERVA HUSBAND, MARRIED
Adriana Husband’s name is Christopher Moltisanti, she played Michael Imperioli, she is a fictional character from the HBO television series The Sopranos. He is Tony Soprano’s protege and a member of the DiMeo crime family, moving from partner to caporegime over the course of the series.
Christopher Moltisanti was born in 1969 to Richard “Dickie” Moltisanti, a soldier of the DiMeo crime family, and Joanne Blundetto. In the episode ‘Cold Cuts’ it is revealed that Chris grew up in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, section of Paramus, New Jersey, near Westfield Garden State Plaza.
When discussing making a Joe Gallo biopic with Jon Favreau, Moltisanti mentions that he vaguely remembered Gallo being murdered in 1972, as he was only a child (3 years old).
Dickie is killed when Chris is very young. Tony Soprano fondly considers Christopher a ‘grandson’ and has cared for him over the years.
Moltisanti dropped out of high school in the 9th year. He is a fan of the Cops TV show. Moltisanti is a roommate of Brendan Filone before his murder and engaged to Adriana La Cerva before his murder. Chris is a first cousin once removed by Tony’s wife Carmela.
THE MOLE
The FBI targets Adriana as a potential weakness in the family organization.
Upon Sal ‘Big Pussy’ Bonpensiero’s death, the FBI treats Adriana as a close relative to a rising star in the crime family and sends Special Agent Deborah Ciccerone to befriend her.
Cicero, who goes by the name ‘Danielle Ciccolella’, manages to befriend Adriana, but the feds must abandon the mission earlier than expected after Christopher makes a ride to Cicero.
However, the FBI learns of Christopher’s heroin addiction, which they know would infuriate Tony Soprano, and turns Adriana into an informant by threatening her with jail for cocaine distribution in the nightclub she runs.
Out of loyalty to Christopher, Adriana avoids giving serious information about the family and does her best to avoid the Soprano family home for having nothing to return to the feds.
Her deception reaches her after the FBI learns of her involvement in covering up a murder in her club and threatens to file a complaint that he is an accomplice to the murder against her unless she offers full cooperation, which would include the use of a thread.
He reveals the truth to Christopher, hoping they can join the Witness Protection Program together and start a new life. An enraged Christopher beats and nearly strangles her, before bursting into tears.
His loyalty to his crime family proves greater than his love for Adriana, and he reveals his status as an informant to Tony.
Tony phones Adriana, falsely informing her that Christopher has attempted suicide at a diner in the Ramapo Mountain State Forest and has been hospitalized, and that Silvio Dante will take her to the hospital. En route on Interstate 287, Silvio stops the car in the woods.
Realizing what is about to happen, a terrified Adriana tries to escape, but Silvio drags her out of the car and shoots her to death. Christopher is then seen putting some of his clothes in a red suitcase and unloading them and then leaving his blue Ford Thunderbird in the long-term parking lot at Liberty Airport in Newark, New Jersey.
AFTER DEATH
In the sixth season episode ‘The Ride’, Carmela Soprano meets Adriana’s mother, Liz La Cerva, who tells Carmela that she believes Christopher killed Adriana and that the FBI questioned her about Adriana’s disappearance.
When Carmela tells Tony about their conversation, she dismisses her fears, explaining that if Christopher killed Adriana, her body would be found.
Also, he reminds Carmela that if the FBI really suspected Christopher, they would have arrested him.
While in Paris, Carmela dreams of seeing Adriana in a park, but a policeman tells her that Adriana is dead. Carmela intends to find her, especially after Liz La Cerva tried to kill herself.
However, Tony and Silvio pull some strings and Carmela is able to continue building her spec house, and the distraction prevents her from investigating the matter further.
